NAU Filmmaking Minor
NAU Minor Independent Filmmaking
To complete this 22-unit minor, students enroll in the following two courses at Northern Arizona University (NAU) for 16 units, but physically take the courses at the Sedona Film School, a fully accredited part of Yavapai College’s Sedona Center for Arts & Technology.
- COM 201 Independent Filmmaking Storytelling (9 units)
- COM 202 Independent Filmmaking Production Techniques (7 units)
In addition, students choose 6 units from the following course options:
- CINE 101 Introduction to Cinema and Visual Culture (3 units)
- EMF 321 History of Entertainment I: 1920-1960 (3 units)
- EMF 322 History of Entertainment II: 1960-Present (3 units)
- EMF 328W EMF Development and Management (3 units)
- EMF 382 The Art of Cinema (3 units)
- EMF 482 Topics in Cinema (3 units)
OR complete 6 units by producing a short independent film project by enrolling in the following:
- COM 210 Independent Filmmaking Project (6 units)
